Ukraine Foreign Minister Resigns; U.S. Regulators Call for Shein and Temu Probe; VW Under Pressure

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, the country's top diplomat, submitted his resignation Wednesday ahead of an expected major government reshuffle. Kuleba didn't give a reason for stepping down.

According to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of available jobs in the United States continued to shrink in July, indicating that the demand for workers continues to wane amid a cooling labor market. Job openings fell in July for the second consecutive month to an estimated 7.67 million, the lowest number since January 2021.

Volkswagen's finance chief said the German automaker has "one, maybe two" years to turn its main car brand around as the company weighs its first-ever plant closures in Germany and its powerful unions threaten a fight. Workers were told to work with management on spending cuts to help the brand survive the shift to electric cars.
