Trump in Court for E. Jean Carroll Case; 1,000 Trapped by Avalanches in China's Xinjiang

Former President Donald Trump appeared in a Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday morning for his second E. Jean Carroll defamation trial. A jury must now decide how much President Trump will have to pay the magazine columnist, who accused him of sexually assaulting her in the mid-1990s.

Around 1,000 tourists are trapped in a winter village in China's Xinjiang region following avalanches that buried parts of a highway. Rescue efforts are underway, and some tourists have been airlifted out by helicopter.

Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson has dropped out of the presidential race. He finished in 5th place in the Iowa caucuses on Monday night.
