President Trump Confirms US–China Trade Deal; Protests Against ICE Operations Spread to More Cities

President Donald Trump says the United States has reached a deal with China as both sides wrapped up their trade talks in London. In a Truth Social post, the president confirmed that the agreement will ensure China supplies the necessary rare earths and full magnets. “We are getting a total of 55% tariffs, China is getting 10%. Relationship is excellent!” the president wrote in all caps.

Protests that began in Los Angeles against immigration enforcement operations spread to more cities on Tuesday, with further demonstrations planned for this weekend. Protesters have begun gathering in Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Washington, and Chicago, and are calling for an end to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations targeting illegal immigrants. In some locations, demonstrators have clashed with law enforcement, and protesters have been arrested.

Elon Musk has stepped back from his recent feud with President Donald Trump. Musk wrote on social media platform X: "I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far." He did not say which specific posts he meant, though he has deleted several that were critical of Trump. One of those signaled support for impeaching the president.
