McConnell to Serve Out Term as Senate GOP Leader; RFK Jr. Says Secret Service Request Denied

In a statement on July 28, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) says he plans to serve out the rest of the current congressional session in his role as the GOP leader. His statement comes just two days after he froze for about 30 seconds during a press conference.

Migrants near Eagle Pass, Texas, have been seen wading past floating barriers installed on the Rio Grande to deter them. The barriers are part of a plan implemented by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott known as Operation Lone Star.

Democratic Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says his request for Secret Service protection has been denied by the Biden Administration.
