Illinois Sues Trump Admin to Halt National Guard Deployment to Chicago; Senate to Vote Again on Bill to End Shutdown

The state of Illinois and city of Chicago filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration on Oct. 6 in a bid to halt the federal government from deploying National Guard troops to Chicago.

The U.S. Senate will take another vote on legislation to fund the government on Monday as a shutdown standoff between the two major parties enters its sixth day. The vote is scheduled at approximately 5:30 p.m.
