‘Gender Queer’ Book Recommended by Teachers’ Union; GOP Pushes Back on Land Leases for Conservation

The largest teachers' union in the United States is recommending that teachers put a controversial book on their summer reading lists. "Gender Queer" was listed on the NEA's "Great Summer Reads for Educators!" in the "banned books" section.

The Bureau of Land Management wants to start selling federal land leases for conservation, but Republicans say this violates the Federal Land Policy and Management Act.
