Florida Reels After Idalia Hits As Category 3 Hurricane, 2 Dead; Georgia DA Seeks Oct. 23 Trial Date

At least 2 have died and over 250,000 Floridians were without power Wednesday morning, after Hurricane Idalia made landfall as a Category 3 storm—bringing record-breaking storm surges and flooding along the state's Gulf coast.

The district attorney in the Georgia election case, Fani Willis, has again stated that she wants the same trial date for former President Donald Trump and the 18 other co-defendants. Her request is for Oct. 23.

Around 32,000 veterans across the country have faced delays in getting their disability claims processed. The Department of Veterans Affairs is blaming a technical glitch.
