First Biden Impeachment Inquiry Hearing Set for Sept. 28; Five Freed Americans Reunite with Families

The House of Representatives is set to hold the first hearing in the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden next Thursday, Sept. 28. Meanwhile, the president’s son is hoping to avoid having to show up in court for his arraignment: Hunter Biden's lawyers are seeking a video conference appearance for his gun charges.

Freedom at last for the five Americans held prisoner for years in Iran. An army airfield at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, witnessed the long-awaited and deeply emotional family reunions. In Moscow, meanwhile, a court upheld the pre-trial detention of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich.

A GOP-led spending bill is coming before the House, with Republicans clearing the final hurdle yesterday. Even if it passes, however, it’s unlikely the Democrat-controlled Senate will approve it.
